Mommy time… Meditate

You’re in the kitchen cooking, the kids are running around, coming in the kitchen screaming they’re hungry and thirsty, significant other need help finding something that’s in plain sight and it hits you. BOOM, head starts hurting, hands sweaty and shaking, light-headed, and the feeling of giving up. You take a break and lay down, only to hear “mom”, you want to scream and cry but you hide it, you go see what your kids want… They don’t want anything, a small break they don’t want you to have. It’s always something, so you go back and hide but, this time you cry cause you’re tired. Don’t cry, mama just Breathe, Focus, and Relax.

I know what you’re thinking, I don’t have time to sit down and meditate. Well, unlike the movies you don’t have to sit or lay down. You can meditate in the shower and washing dishes. All you have to do is clear your mind and focus on breathing.

Is it that simple? Yes, it is. I meditate every day while I’m washing dishes, in the shower, cooking and right before bed. As a beginner, I recommend 5 minutes a day and as you learn increase the time to 10,15, and so forth. If you are still unsure and have doubt, I am going to recommend my favorite app that helped me in my journey to a mindful meditation.

My favorite meditation app is Insight timer this app is amazing. So much to explore it has 12,000 guided meditations, over 1,000 music tracks to choose from, free and paid courses all to help you in your journey. They also have discussion boards and a big community with many amazing people. My favorite once you’re done, you can see everyone who meditated with you at that exact moment. You can also see how long everyone around the world has left on their meditation session. How cool is that? It also has a milestone tracker to track your improvement and for a quick session just input how much time you have to meditate, and you get a variety to choose from within your time frame. Another one of my favorites is the meditation teachers, you can follow them, take their classes and ask them questions no one is there to judge only lift your inner peace. So, what are you waiting for? Visit Insighttimer.
